A Note From Our Founder
For the last 25 years, movement has been my anchor. But a decade ago, when I started practising as a psychologist, I truly began to see how deeply our minds and bodies are connected. We don’t just carry stress in our heads — we trap it in our muscles, our posture, and our breath.
Six years ago, I discovered mat Pilates — and it changed everything. One thing led to another, and I found myself stepping onto a reformer. That experience made me want to bring something the people of Salem had never had access to before.
I named this space The Tens because it stands for one thing: the ultimate release of tension. My vision was simple — to create a sanctuary where you could step in, leave the noise behind, and literally let go. Both physically and mentally.
No experience needed. Just curiosity and a willingness to move.

Joseph Pilates developed his method in the early 20th century, drawing from gymnastics, boxing, and yoga. Originally called "Contrology," the system focused on conscious control of all muscular movements of the body.
What began as rehabilitation for injured soldiers and dancers evolved into one of the world's most respected movement disciplines — practised today by athletes, post-natal mothers, elderly people recovering from injury, and everyone in between.
At its heart, Pilates is about quality over quantity. Fewer, more deliberate repetitions. A deep conversation between your mind and your muscles. Breath as the engine that drives every movement.
The PrinciplesThe Reformer is the iconic Pilates machine — a sliding carriage mounted on a frame, connected to a spring-based resistance system. It looks elegant and complex; it's actually brilliantly intuitive.
